Janel’s lifelong pattern of seeking physically and mentally demanding experiences is exactly what led her to her career as a Registered Massage Therapist. Prior to Janel’s education at The West Coast College of Massage Therapy, she was involved in varsity cross-country running for York University in Toronto and worked the arduous job as a tree planter for eight years. During her time as a tree planter, she explored alternative careers including international education, support for homeschooled students, chocolate making and teaching intermediate yoga.
Inspired by the active community, Janel began her own business, The Little Spruce Massage, on Vancouver Island in 2021. She then took to the woods and treated tree planters during the 2022 season with Torrent Silviculture.
In her practice, Janel is passionate and determined to explore exactly what is limiting her patients, causing pain and discomfort and will not waste any time in manipulating tissues and getting to the source. She enjoys problem solving any patient’s needs and especially finds an interest in treating endurance athletes.
Janel has been all over Canada and is now on the steady hunt for a place to call home. Nelson’s small and active community is what brought her here, and she is hoping to insert herself into the acro-yoga community and hike as often as possible. When she is not working, she is still using her hands. She enjoys gardening, wood working, foraging, playing guitar, making crafts, going to the gym and running around with her dog, Muskie.

Heal from the Inside Out.
BodyTalk is a revolutionary form of alternative healthcare. It encompasses Western Medical expertise, the energy dynamics of Acupuncture, Osteopathic and Chiropractic, Philosophy, the clinical findings of Applied Kinesiology, and the insights of modern Physics and Mathematics. Bodytalk is an astonishingly simple and effective form of therapy that allows the body’s energy systems to be synchronized so they can operate as nature intended. When a body is operating at its optimal level, each system, cell, and atom is always in constant communication with each other. Through exposure to the stresses of day-to-day life, these lines of communication can become compromised, which can lead to a decline in physical, emotional and/or mental health.
While BodyTalk does not diagnose or treat specific ailments, clinical experience has shown that once their overall systems are balanced through BodyTalk, clients have exhibited improvement within their health.
This simple, safe and effective method is non-invasive and has been known to help with numerous symptoms, illnesses and diseases including those in the areas of:
*Arthritis
*Sport’s Injuries
*Sport’s Performance
*Emotional Disorders
*Learning Disorders
*Endocrine Disorders
*Chronic Fatigue
*Headaches
*Phobias
*Chronic Pain
*Stress
*Viruses
*Infections
*Allergies
*Back Pain

Therapeutic Touch® is a contemporary interpretation of several ancient healing practices. It is an intentionally directed process of energy exchange during which the practitioner uses the hands as a focus to facilitate the healing process. The practitioner may apply light touch with permission during the Therapeutic Touch® session or may simply move his/her hands a few inches from the body.
Therapeutic Touch® is a complementary therapy that may be used in conjunction with conventional medicine.
Dolores Krieger, Ph.D., R.N. (Professor Emerita of New York University) and her mentor Dora Kunz developed Therapeutic Touch in the early 1970s. It is now practiced by thousands of healthcare professionals, holistic health practitioners and lay people in 75 countries throughout the world. Numerous colleges and universities teach it in their graduate and undergraduate nursing programs. Therapeutic Touch is a scientifically based practice, including at least 15 doctoral dissertations, post-doctoral studies, and innumerable master’s theses. U.S. National Institute of Health has funded Therapeutic Touch research.
This is safe, gentle, and non-invasive, practice facilitates healing through a conscious direction of energy with the intention of promoting well-being and healing in these areas:
*Deep Relaxation
*Decreased Stress
*Decreased Anxiety
*Decreased Pain
*Calmness, Peace, and Well-being
*Accelerated Healing
*Energy Balance Restored
*Healing Facilitated within the Body

VMLD Lymphatic Drainage
The Veltheim Method of Lymphatic Drainage (VMLD) is a unique and highly effective way of moving stagnant fluid from around your cells through the tissues and into the lymphatic system for drainage. VMLD helps the body keep things moving to optimize the cleansing and purification of your inner environment. I work energetically to support detoxification of fluid around the cells; the healthier this fluid is the healthier your cells are.
This is an ideal modality to begin with to optimize the benefits of all other modalities you engage with. Common benefits include:
*detoxification
*improved immune function
*balances the fluid in the blood
*restores hydration of the skin
*regeneration of tissue
*reduction of swelling
*weight loss
*reduces cellulite
*reduces sinus congestion
*decreases joint pain
*promotes relaxation
*regulation of bowel movements
*increased energy
*Natural detoxification
This method can be conducted without removing your clothing, and oils and lotions are not used.

Having been involved in athletics his entire life and playing soccer competitively, Anthony has had his fair share of sport related injuries. Requiring countless hours of massage as an athlete gave him a great respect for what a Massage Therapist can offer to anyone recovering from an injury. This appreciation for the profession lead him to enroll at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2015.
Anthony is passionate about providing the highest quality of care for everyone he works with. He enjoys educating his clients about their body and how they can speed their recovery and prevent further injuries from happening.
